The 217-30-FN BBT is once more in the store.... and NEW is the availability of this slug in the RG2 and RG4 moulds, which come with three sets of pins, to cast Hollow Point, Cup Point, or Flat Nose slugs, all from the same mould….

Thanks to Al for taking the plunge to make the RG moulds available.... 8)

Placed my order last week . Hope to get it before the weekend ,yet another mold that I have high hopes for . I have the non HP version in.220” and it shoots very well from several guns . I’ll post my findings once I prep and start casing .

Did some testing and they shoot just as well if not better than the original FP. Here’s a pic of the first groups at 50 yards . I shoot three shot groups for the most part .im not sure at what speed as I didn’t have my chrono . They were from an FX Impact slug liner with the 1:15.5” twist .

I cast about 1000 and weighed about 50 . They all came in between 27.6 and 28.2 gn so I stopped there . They are a bit oversized at .219” which isn't a big deal as I size everything and the bigger bullet allows me to get the fit just right for the bore . Highly recommend this mold , i think in good conditions 1/2” groups at 50 are doable .the squares are 1” on the paper and I was shooting in some fairly windy conditions .

The nose is designed at 0.217" for easier chambering, and the rear drive band at 0.219" to seal better in oversize bores.... as you say, they can always be sized.... and NOE's sizing system is way cheaper, with each bushing only $10 extra and available in 0.001" increments.... 8)

Well than . I guess I should have had a closer look at the drawing . I’m going to try them unsized .
