Crosman domed, BC 0.019, 14.3gr, muzzle speed 750fps, target at 30 yards, scope zeroed at 25 yards...

Muzzle energy 17.9fpe, 25 yards 12.9fpe, 30 yards 12.1fpe, scope needs 5 clicks adjustment, and pellet needs 0.133 second reach 30 yards target...

Yep, I think why you didn't see the results you were looking for is. The hydroshock of airguns pellets is small, and apples are big. But smaller ones, should.

I got smaller drop apples from my apple tree. That I could compare Sub 500 177 and 22.

Yes, and its because the apple is not hard / tough / whatever enough, and too easy to be penetrated... So afterwards, I change my target to the pine cones... At least you know you didn't miss... ;-)

And I shot the Wadcutter and the Domed today with my rated 440fps HW70 springer pistol. I think the deep seated R10 will be around 450fps on the FX Chrony and normal loaded R10 in 430+fps, then the JSB Express in 400 to 410 range...

We can see the flat nose wadcutter made a much bigger square shape hole and the domed pellet made a nice much smaller round hole... We can imagine when they fly in the air, the effort for them to 'penetrate' the air will be so much different ~

And the 20fps velocity difference between the loading method on the same pellet looks not making much difference when they hit the target... Image
