Please keep us posted with your success (or failure) to repair the slide.

I read the reviews of the airgun on Pyramyd Air. Seems like this was a major flaw with the airgun. As it was one of the early airguns to have blowback action, maybe it needed to be made of a more sturdy plastic, or should of had a metal slide, like the airsoft version.

Maybe time for Umarex to come out with a more improved version, full metal with metal slide & drop out mag. But hopefully, keep it a pellet shooter with rifled barrel.

The Desert Eagle is another of those iconic guns. A review of the real firearm got more than 11 million views:

And who can forget this classic scene in the movie Snatch, where Vinnie Jones's describes his Desert Eagle:

Sure is iconic and the softest shooting large caliber centerfire pistols around. The 44 shot felt like a very heavy 9mm.

Yeah... Don't know why these many years passed, we didn't see a new version full metal DE bb gun...

What are you doing Umarex?? I don't want any more Glock, do no more face-lift Glocks and make us a new DE~

Hope Umarex is listening.

I had the pellet Desert Eagle on my must buy list, a few years ago, when they were still selling them new. Passed on it due to the slide issue.

Update :

Been like month since i locked the valve to stay in place while shooting so NO MORE BLOWBACK, NO MORE SINGLE ACTION trigger unless i pull the hammer back.

The gun shoots in double action only, but IT WORKS.

Yes the slide is still cracked, but when i close the barrel with the 8 round rotary magazine, it fits like it was brand new lol unless you look very carefully.

Overall i can say im pretty lucky to have it back in working order.

Good work, pulling back the hammer with your thumb is still is single action.
