I’m curious what the quietest rifle you own, or have owned would be? This would apply to us Canadians with no sound suppression devices.
I’ve had a few under 500fps ones that I thought should have been relatively quiet, but were not.

I realize the nature of the pcp guns dictates they will inevitably be a little louder than other categories.

I’m always on the hunt for quiet basement friendly guns for winter time. If you have the actual decibel level, bonus, otherwise, just your general impression of the quietest one you’ve got.

X2 my AT44 is probably the quietest of my PCP's at under 500
but still no as quite as my springers though...
PCP's--Co2's and pumpers are always going to make some noise

Under 500fps is the quietest and the slower you make it the quieter it gets

I can tune the FX impact to shoot .177 JSB pellets at 800 FPS . Just a little pop , makes no more noise than a Crosman phantom at the same FPS .

It's still very new to me, but I did check the gauge several times after a shot to see if it just dropped or what as the report just that quiet and sounds it's shooting very slow....

Since it's the same it's both the loudest and quietest, mp61 convert PCP.
12 fpe big clack noise
8 fpe not bad even in backyard (similar to hw40 SSP)
6 fpe is pretty quiet for indoor

So that's 700 / 600 / 500 fps or so with 4.52hnn barracuda 10.65 out of 18.5" barrel

You can download the free app « NIOSH sound level meter » on the App Store.
I have compared it to my class 2 SLM I use at work and it on par with it.

I've wondered how much a longer barrel would help, like a 24" LW barrel. If I was in CA I'd be trying all kinds of things to quiet it. Aside from the longer barrel I wonder if it's legal to vent some air out the side of the barrel? For example; in the US a gas operated semi-auto rifle is quieter than a bolt action with the same barrel length, and it's legal despite the dB drop that if done at the muzzle would be illegal. In many <500 Crosmans they vent air inside the gun which quiets it. So maybe it's a loophole and some air could be dumped, like into the stock? So to be clear (so I don't get chewed on) I'm not saying to break the law, I'm only wondering if that would be legal?
And of course I'd also try to make it use as much pressure as possible, but a shorter burst of it. This would mean modding the valve housing and limiting the valves opening. Maybe it'll help a lot, maybe not so much, but I'd try. And of course you'd have to eliminate dreaded hammer bounce, which you should all do no matter what.
Barrel length example; when I use Aguila Colibri 22LR ammo in a 22" barrel they sound more like a very quiet airgun and I can hunt rats at night w/o waking my neighbors, but if shot in an 18" barrel they'd wake up everyone. Similar with misc others, like a 44mag pistol vs 44 rifle etc which is substantially quieter in the rifle. Still loud, just sayin much less so. If I ever break down an get a LW barrel for my Mrod it'll be much longer than oem for this reason and to net free power.

Quietest air rifle I've ever had was a FWB 601... Not sure if it was the SSP or the long baffle over the barrel, but that thing was mouse-fart quiet.
