I have a Diana Stormrider in .22 with an Altaros regulator that sadly is not regulating. The regulator gauge is always reading the fill pressure and I am still getting a massive shot curve.

I have a few of these in various rifles, and sometimes you have to play around with the setting screw/face, (upside down set point, turned out of calibration, etc.) but always sort it out. I tried using the white arrow to set pressure as I have another one that suffers that same issue, and also tried turning the adjustment 1 turn each way still notta so reset back to default. I am starting to wonder about the seal but it looks ok, any suggestions? I didn't want to adjust the setting screw more then one rotation in either direction for fear I would do damage or get it too out of whack. I did notice on one other the install rod was turning the set point when screwed in so my concern is I have it out of calibration.

I am tired of filling, checking the reg pressure to disappointment and degassing so going to farm this out to you more experienced folks for suggestions :D

This sounds like the one that needed a new oring 8).
Frustrating for sure when it's not doing its job.
Hopefully it's working well now.

I had the same issue when I first got my Altaros regulator for my CR600W PCP. Under the advice of Altaros, I tightened the adjustment screw all the way, then back off 3/4 turn as a starting point, the regulator started to regulate. After that I adjusted the regulator to about 80 bar for my under 500 ft/s gun. It is now shooting very nicely.

I found the regulator adjustment screw did not show the absolute regulated pressure unlike what Altaros claimed.

Hope this helps, good luck,

Tom

Thanks for the info, I will keep that in mind if I ever suspect the adjustment screw is off on these regs.
