Hey folks!

Have been noticing most PCP guns and some quality underlever like the HW97 and TX200 don't feature iron sights.

Has anyone (especially in BC or better yet van island) got to experience adding iron sights or peep sights either themselves or via a gunsmith and what it might actually cost?

Should be easy. Since they have rails, finding a dovetail rear sight be easy. For the front, a gunsmith could install a front sight ramp. Or you can just find a clamp on front sight base.

I'm sure if you google, you'll find some solutions.

That Diamond Head aperture sight would certainly fit onto a picatinny scope base, but the front sight might be tricky for an HW97. The top front sight, clamping base might work, depending on size.

Thanks for posting that ace!

I managed to track these down
https://www.newenglandairgun.com/open_sightsforpcp.html

https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_cont ... kBxwUDanNg

Which is nice for an 80$ kit to just call it done (even if it isn't the prettiest thing around)

Honestly there are way better options for open sights. Than running super tall AR15 one. Also that setup you shown has a short sight radius and wouldn't be as accurate.

Luna

That guy is buying from Ali express. Things you can buy for a couple dollars, and trying to sell it as a "kit" for 80 USD (103 CAD) Which all he is using is 2 dovetail adapters and a cheap set of iron sights. Selling it for people like you that have no idea.

Found everything from that website for 1/2.. 22CAD for the sight w/ adjusting tool, and 2 dovetail adapters under 10$ a piece. 42 CAD and you got the same setup the guy charging over 100$ for.

Whats the point buying a 600$ plus airgun, and ghettoizing it with a ugly sight system?

Honestly if it was me.. Id just goto a gunsmith, get them to dovetail the barrel on the TX200, or HW 97 so you could put a globe front sight, or installing a ramp front sight base. And just buy a dovetail rear sight,

Here is a TX200 someone made a front sight for. It would just be the matter of finding a front sight base, and getting it D&T.

And is this still need a groved muzzle to install the front sight?

And the setup is like my detuned 35E, I paid less than 100 for the Daisy peep sight and use the original front post... ImageImage

Luna - a simple 3moa red-dot scope mounts easily and will work for shooting out to about 50yards without incident.
D&L in Richmond, has them, however, I'd simply mount a scope.

Yeah you are all right! I think the gunsmith dovetail option is the best bet, and dot sights are actually really interesting! !

I think I am going to give up on my .177 <495 quest and just get a decent 22 and do a mod or get a dot sight and call it a day.

Thanks!

I haven't been sleeping much... as silly as this sounds I have been so stressed over trying to find "the perfect gun" that I have just been up late trying to make things work all the time.

A good sleep is very important ~ And maybe it's just the first gun brings you the headache... You will get used to buy more and more and different gun maybe only just same gun different caliber or setup will have their own characters.... So just take it easy and don't be worry about losing anything, you will get them, ALL.... It just takes some time...
