Got a pretty strong magnet? Looks like that silver ring is what retains the ball.

Needless something is out of spec, and will continue to pop out. If it was a 200$ Crosman I'd say fix it. 700$ AA, I would contact the shop, And not touch it anymore, to avoid voiding warranty. Maybe they will just send you a replacement part. Due to being the most cost effective.

My guess is that the ball and spring were inserted and then the outer edge of the hole was struck or pressed with a tool that swaged the rim of the hole to reduce its diameter, causing the ball to be retained. Just not enough in this case.

its not a silver ring it looks like it in the one pic that's just the lighting
lleader is correct that is from a press that reduces the lip of the hole just a bit, just enough for the
bearing detent not to slide out, looks like it was just a bad fit, this is what happens when things
start to get produced to fast.... :|
just contact them explain your situation and have them send you a new barrel latch

Hopefully Luna will let us know how it worked out and put closure to this long thread that ppl have stopped reading closely. Tuesday she wrote
Quote:
I got in touch with Travis today and he had a replacement part for the ball detent in the mail before the end of the day. (That is attached image.) Looks like it should be here next Wednesday.

He had said "That's a new one! I have never heard of that part failing before" so for those in the market, I guess there's that?
.

So, when it arrives and you put it on, Luna, can you please let us know so we stop worrying?

hahaha You are right of course Ace, but I enjoy that we have anthropomorphized her to this degree! haha

The new part should be here Wednesday.

What you are saying about the press maybe not going far enough to fully keep the ball in makes sense.

Yes, it does. The end was struck like the muzzle of a cheap single shot shotgun - swaged choke.

Hey folks,

The new part arrived promptly some time ago and I installed it today and confirmed that it's working. (Haven't shot it yet, but it's holding the underlever arm.)

Hoping to get out to do some shooting Saturday and will report back my findings! I still need to return the dot sight, and I have my new scope to zero in and I expect we are going to start to see some of those groups the TX200 is famous for so stay tuned!
