So I wanted to put a shroud on my Summit Ranger, I ordered the following parts.

NP214-008 Shroud
NP214-009 Shroud Cone
NP214-032 ( the non baffled end cap )

The barrel on this gun is suppose to be the same length as the Trail NP2. But this the problem.

Shroud cone is against the breech, and the end cap is threaded all the way in.

Can anyone measure their shroud and tell me how long it is? I'm thinking someone at crosman cut one them too short.

Very interesting. Shrouds the same length, but my barrel is 15.5" Which is the same length as what these parts are for.

I understood what you said, so no need for a picture. I got 15.5 from where the cone sits to the muzzle. So got a 15.5" barrel, 14.5" shroud. Something not right.

They list both models as having a 15.5" barrel. The Trail NP2, and my Summit Ranger NP2. All the parts came from NP214 parts #. Yet there is a 3.186" gap. And there is no EVP for the Summit Ranger. But seems like maybe the Summit ranger is a hodge podge rifle? My buddy got a Crosman Summit Ranger NP2, its got Benjamin Summit reciever and says on the side, its got a pinnty rail on it, same barrel as mine, but a thumb hole stock.

I read a post that said it was very common for Crosman to mix and match components but I only have the one break barrel so I have not not see it personally

Yeah I was looking at the box, no where does it give you the barrel length. Other than the model number on the box. The manual provided is just a universal manual, Nothing for parts either. Only online is where I found the barrel length. Now is it correct? Who knows.

Now when crosman tells me to refer to my manual again, I can tell them, there isn't one.

you could run a 1/2x20 tap in from the other end and cut it off to secure the shroud.

Unfortunately not enough material to do so. Someday I'll get to a buddies and turn something on the lathe, and use the alum shroud. For now I just made a longer shroud from a curtain rod, super heavy.
