Canuck Tire had a sale on their pellet rifles the other day so I bought a Gamo Swarm for 185.00!!!
First thing I did was to chrony the gun. It's a .177 and I was using Crossman Priemier Pointed pellets at 7.4 gn. and Stoeger X-magnum at 11.57gn.
The Stoegers had a high of 266fps and the Crossman had a high of 364fps, pretty poor!!! I had to find out what was causing this poor performance so I took the gun apart and saw that the gas transfer port was just a tiny little hole prolly the Canadian version. I decided to do a little tweeking and opened the hole to a #40 drill. put it back together and checked the results.... Stoeger heavy increased to 695fps and the Crossman increased to 830fps. Haven't figured out loading pic's yet!
Sorry about that all you people out there. brain fart ! The title is completely wrong, working on too much stuff. It is actually a Gamo Swarm 10X.
I will change the title.
I grabbed one on sale too. How did you access the transfer port to drill it out? The bolt holding the barrel pivot does not come out.
Yes I have my PAL.

What size was the hole originally?? Just wondering how much bigger more than doubled the speed. #40 is .098
My .22 Swarm has a .150 hole factory.
