You need to read the manual for the firearms safety course. Bare minimum know what ACTS and PROVE is. Imbed it in your brain and follow it always.

Whenever someone at our club lets me handle or use their gun I get them to show me how with that gun if it's one I never used before.

Someone handing you a loaded pistol, without verifying it first. If it was me they would have their license revoked. Or maybe you are pulling our leg.

Regarding your 2 new mags. No that is not overkill.

One of the fun aspects of semi or full auto is shooting a mag, dropping it, slapping in a new one and doing it again.

Also. every time you shoot a co2 gun the temp of the co2 drops, then the pressure drops, then the velocity drops. Having multiple mags with the p08 or mp40 which have the co2 in the mag is good. It allows the co2 in the previous mag to warm up before you use it again.

I just wish I knew that about co2 back in the 80's when paintball was first starting up. We played at the Bay of Quinte in October and November. I would have had handwarmers around my gun.

It's wonderful the knowledge you can gain these day's with the internet. Old farts like me had to go to the library, read a book, or 2 , or many, and never find the info.

Mag overkill. My 410 gets 100 shots per fill. 10 shot mags. I have 10 Mags.

Amen…preaching to the choir. There is no worse feeling you can have than being surprised by the accidental discharge of a firearm while innocent bystanders are nearby.

When it comes to “toys”, one can never have enough. I have reeled in my zeal for now. I have been eyeballing German magazine holders and they all have two pouches with 3 slots each for 6 mags total….half way there….plus one in the gun! lol….
That’s a lot of dough on mags!

Again, this gear is for fun. I am researching a solid target/pest shooter. I will curb my enthusiasm until I find something suitable.

I hear you on how easy it is now to research. The internet is a dream encyclopedia at your finger tips. My number one rule…”YouTube is your Friend!”. So many How-To great videos on almost every topic. Hours of great stuff.

I just downloaded the study book to pass the PAL test….holy! That’s going to be a little work and 3 months waiting after the test!

I will be honest, half the fun is doing the research and the learning that goes with it. Just have to be patient.

If I might suggest something even better than the internet and youtube...
Come out to the FT match in Hamilton on April 5 and you will see a wide range of guns in real life.
From off-the-shelf Canadian Tire break-barrels, to highly customized exotic PCP's, and everything in-between.
And - a bunch of friendly air gunners who love talking about their guns and why they think that theirs is better than the one at the next bench over....

Pulling your leg? No, …. 100% Truth! This was years ago at a military range (I am not military, was there as a guest). I can’t honestly remember how the weapon was passed to me.

I was fully aware it was loaded, safety on. I WAS NOT AWARE of the number of rounds in the clip. I thought 6, it had 7.

Thanks for the invite…..greatly appreciated! I am free on the 5th so far. I think I mentioned earlier the next 2 months are problematic because of some pressing personal business and my schedule isn’t 100% nailed down yet.
I will seriously consider it.

This is up my ally as I am interested in some good break barrel and higher end rifles so might be a very worthwhile experience.
