SHINE AND SHOW @ THE APRIL 5TH MATCH!!!!!!!!

#1 Post by CBS shooter »

Shine and Show
April 5th match
Ok doing something different this match. As we have some new shooters coming and we are all getting started up again after a long winter. Lets make this first match a little more fun. Asking for you to bring out a rig you want to display for all to see. This does not have to be the Air rifle you shoot the match with. Just one you want to show off. After we get set up for match we will display guns on shooting bench, go red. But no shooting. So people can see, handle and ask questions about them, under supervision of owner. I will have coffee and a snack for us to eat, while catching up with old friends. Afterwards we will have our shooters meeting and start the match. :D

That is a really great idea, Bob. Make sure you get word out to those who do not frequent the internet or forums. There are a lot of beautifuls rigs in the gun safes of a good number of your regular shooters.

I like the idea however; being a total newbie at the FT meets I am looking for a definition of "go red". Does this mean 'All stop!' (unload and disarm) or 'red' means danger?

This will seem self-explanatory to regulars  but I'm not a regular.

Good question PP.

The safety lights on the range are green when the range is "cold" and no one is allowed to handle guns. Red is when the range is "Hot" and you can handle guns and shoot. In this case we will have a Red-ish level where we will be able to handle guns but NOT load and shoot.

We will need to abide by all the usual HAHA range safety rules including:
guns need to be brought into the range in cases (can be brought in at any time under red or green)
guns can only be uncased at the firing line (and only when the red lights are on)
Muzzles need to always be pointed down range or up
etc.
