What does the $50 crosman 4x32 do that the $15 crosman 4x15 won't? I want a scope for my new 1040.
Hey, don't hate. It releases negative energy, which is bad for everyone.

Ooohhh, ooohhh, pick me, pick me. . .
I just picked up one of the crossman 4x32 scopes to replace a 4x15 that I had on my 2240.
Much clearer optics. Better magnification at range. And the adjustments on the turrets actually click!
It took me a while to sight in the new scope (about half an hour before I figured out that my 2240 doesn't like Gamo Match pellets) but, in the next hour I knocked 7 English Sparrows out of the wind row with 7 pellets at ranges between 20 and 30 m.

- the magnification is the same, but it would appear to be higher on the x32 scope.
- the lense is bigger on the x32 one, that allows for more light to be gathered, thus improving the clarity of the scope (looks more clear) and allows you to use it in lower light conditions
- the x32 scope is better built, it will withstand more abuse and hold the recoil better
- the x32 scope has better looks (actually looks like a scope rather than a tube on clamps)
- the x32 scope has better adjustment knobs - like someone else said - the adjustment turrets actually click, allowing for a more precise adjustments
- the x15 scopes adjustment knobs require a screwdriver, and have a high potential of getting scratched (first hand experience here)
in general - you get what you pay for. i have the 4x15. i own it for 2.5 years, i have used it on my .22 breakbarrel, backpacker, 2240, 2004, etc and had no problems with it. until i discovered better quality optics - bushnel. i have a 3-9x32 bushnel airgun designed scope. it has MUCH clearer image and is brighter, easier to use, sight in, etc, etc, etc.
the 4x32 crosman is good, but i would recomend you to pay $30 and get the bushnel airgun scope from leBaron or other store.
