How to get BC of pellets?

#1 Post by Jester »

How do you calculate, or where do you find, the ballistic coeficient for a particular pellet?

(Or does anyone know the BC of .177 Diabolo Baracudas or those Xisico .22 "half-domed" pellets?)

Thanks!

P.S.
The Baracuda's are listed as Beeman Kodiak's in most cases.

BC meaning ?

Is it true that a large BC means better accuracy and energy down-range ?

Should I always pick the pellet with largest BC ?

The pellet with the highest BC may not be accurate in your gun, but it will hold energy well downrange. Pellets with the best BC tend to be domed. It's best to try a variety of pellets and see which one works best in your gun, regardless of pellet type or BC.

The Diabolo Baracudas and the Beeman Kodiaks are the same pellets with a different label?

Yes, Beeman imports the H&N Baracudas to the U.S. as Kodiaks.

I see.

I have found that the Baracudas are mostly advertized as 10.65gr and the Kodiaks 10.6gr. I know it's not much difference but what is the actual weight?
