the steel breech will fit
2240, 2250, 2289, 1322, 1377.
the 22 cal steel breach kit has a diff # than the .177 kit.
the only difference is the bolt .
Crosman 2240 steel breech rocks
Thanks for the info. I think you're right about the earlier 1322, I'll still have to cock manually if I just change the breech...good. Hope the bolt isn't too sloppy without being connected to the cocking mechanism...
I get the impression that the steel breech holds the barrel more securely. Is that true? For instance, I notice on my NEW 2289 that the barrel rotates a bit. Not only that, but the barrel cannot be rotated enough such that my front sight is "vertical". I didn't notice until I was sighting it in the other day, and it's way the hell off. I am using a scope anyway, but I usually make sure the "iron" sights are good before mounting if I can keep them.
Is there a Crosman part to fill in that hole (looks like from pics) where the rear sight would mount on the steel breech? What would normally go there?
Can the brass bolts from the plastic breeches be used in the steel breech?

I'll answer some of my own questions now that I've done the installations.

Still must cock manually with steel breech. Bolt is very sloppy. I put a soft spring in between the bolt end and the back of the breech. This has worked out so far. Not necessary for functionality, but the bolt flops all over without it, there is nothing to hold it in any position.

Yes, the steel breech does hold the barrel more securely. You have to remove the plastic barrel spacer too with the longer breech, and doesn't seem to be any reason to cut the spacer and re-install.

I don't know what I meant there, must have looked like a gaping hole from some pics I saw. Anyway, I hate slotted screws, so replaced the bolt that used to hold the rear sight with a slightly shorter Allen head capscrew from CT. Looks nicer IMO, and the length is better. Especially significant for the 1322 where the bolt can interfere with cocking knob motion if you're not careful.
Can the brass bolts from the plastic breeches be used in the steel breech?
Yes, if you can get the original press-fit bolt/handle apart to install in the steel breech. Not sure why you'd want to...
I installed steel breeches in 1322, 2289, 2240 (2250 now).
