Heres what I did to lube my slav.

1. Remove the stock screws so that you can remove the stock. (be careful not to lose anything, one of the screws is for adjusting the trigger)
2. Knock out the metal pin that holds the back of the gun together. Careful not to damage it, using a compressor here would make it easier but you can do without. Remove the trigger and spring.
3. Unscrew the back of the gun, THE SPRING WILL HAVE A BIT OF PRELOAD so watch out for that, might want to aim it towards a bundled up towel to catch all the parts.
4. Remove the piston, spring, guide from the slavia.
5. Using some MOLY paste, for example... MAC1 moly paste or beeman's M2M moly (what I use) put some moly on your fingers (gloves makes this part easier) lube up the spring guide, the outside of the spring, the sides of the piston and the sides of the piston seal (only the sides, not the front).

A little goes a long way with moly, so dont use too much, just a thin layer will do.

6. put all the parts back into the gun, you might want to put a bit of moly on any of the other parts that rub, like the trigger. Don't damage the piston seal on the threads when your putting the piston back in.
7. Use some elbow grease to screw the back of the gun back in, put the trigger back in, and push the pin back in place.
8. Put the receiver in the stock and screw it back in.

edit: You dont have to take apart the barrel pivot to lube it, but if you want the job done properly you might as well. Use moly here too to make cocking smoother, and reduce wear on the pivot.

If you wanna do a good job yes!

What do you mean by all purpose grease? you cant use just anything! Some oils/greases are higly combustible and will damage the innards if you use them or eat away at the seals.
