Ordering from the states?

#1 Post by spine »

Hi all,

I really want to purchase a rws diana model 34 from the cabela's website. It's the scoped model and it's on sale for 239.99usd. Now I know dl sells this gun with no scope for 418.00cad. I jsut want to know how difficult it is to get one over. I have a valid PAL. I looking to save money and this seems to be the way to go. Any opinions, has anyone ordered from them?
Any response would be greatly appreciated!

D&L is a good source, any problem it doesn't have to go back and forth to US and trouble with custom, less hassle but cost a bit more, but not that much more when calculating the shipping and taxes (they will charge GST & PST) may be duty. OR another better source yet .... Marvin The Airgun Guy .... F/S here new: http://www.airgunforum.ca/forum/viewtopic.898.html

One thing for sure Diana 34 is a beautiful gun...... good choice.

Its my understanding that you will be assesed an import duty based on the country of manufacture. I dont know how much this is on German made guns but on british guns its 15%. Next you have to pay PST and GST which is another 15% on the subtotal. You also have to pre purchase the gun get the serial number and apply for registration. This has to be done prior to shipping the gun to you. I looked into getting a gun from Straight shooters earlier this year and this is what I was told.
Airgunning is my hobby... and it is cheaper than
maintaining an outside relationship with another woman.

We've already covered the issue of ordering for the states a few days ago... One can always use the search option, it's there for a reason. No need to start 10 different threads with the same information.

BTW, seeing as this is your first post... Welcome aboard! ;)

Yes, I have used the search feature many, many times. I was just wondering if the specific site maybe simplified the order being such a large respected company. I know ordering from the states is a hassle but I needed to clarify if cabelas made life easy, but I guess not. Thanks for the info I will order the gun from Canada.

ps: Great forum, very informative!

Its probably best to buy from Canada , a lot less hassles ..and keep our dealers in business , you will get the gun a lot sooner too ..I am sure Mr Marvin will match or come very close to the price .
