New purchase rws34 .22

#1 Post by spine »

I just ordered this gun after reading many reviews. I would like to know which scope and mount to get. The anticipation is killing me. Should be in soon. Has anyone on this forum owned this gun? Does the power and accuracy hold true? Any comments would be appreciated! This will be a huge upgade compared to my mediocre crosman 795.(so inaccurate and cheaply made). Well I'm ranting now, but can you blame me. lol

HI i have owned this 34 for 10 years one of the best rifles in its price range Mine shoot around 690 to 700 fps with crosmans 22 cal .the scope mount is a bsquare and the scope is bushnell sportview .the scope has worked well on my 34 but it will not stand up to a model 48 ........

Does your gun have a plastic trigger? I can't tell from the pic. I heard they can be problematic. I hope not...

I have mine for about 6 months now. I knew it would an excellent gun before I bought it since the reviews speak for itself beside I already have the D36. The spec. of D34 is all true. I installed Beeman Sport Aperture Sight and it is so amazingly accurate. Tuned it with JM spring kit. I know you won't regret it.

Upon arrival of the gun, should I lube it or is it ready to fire out of the box?

Yes, take it out of the box, set it on the chrono and lock 'n load.

I've had my 34 in .22 for a couple of years, and it's a great break barrel. About a year ago I swapped out the stock mainspring for an HW57 mainspring. It fit the guide perfectly, and elliminated the "buzz" completely. It didn't loose much if any power, before the new spring it did 630fps with 16gr JSB's and with the new spring 627fps with the same pellets. Much smoother and even easier to cock, it was always accurate beyond my shooting capabilities, especially with the Anschutz diopter sight. Of my six Diana airguns, and the few plastic parts they have, I've experienced no problems. Enjoy your new toy,

Mulby

Edit: PS. Clean the bore before your first shot, just in case there is some junk in it. Also make sure the stock screws are snug.
