I knew that my quest had horrible accuracy with the scope, but was acctualy pretty good with the iron sights, so I was wondering if the scope was junk, or if the gun just didn't work well with a scope. I put the 4x32 that came with it on my brother's winchester 500x. Using Cosman Copperhead wadcutter, it grouped about half an inch at 33'. Then just to see, I got a cheap Crosman 4x15 and mounted it on my Quest. I wound'nt even call it a group, it was that bad. On bright side, I will have a good scope for my 2240 when I get it.

Perhaps the barrel pivot needs some attention. A sloppy pivot is not good for accuracy when using a scope. Try tightening the pivot bolt. If the bolt won't go tight enough maybe the bushing is a little too long (shorten it). If things are still sloppy then maybe try metal breech washers instead of plastic.

A properly adjusted barrel pivot can be easily tested. Cock rifle and return barrel to locked position, hold rifle parallel to ground, break open breech, let go of barrel. The barrel should not drop quickly. It should move very slowly or stop and require a very light push to move it through the arc with no spring tension.

right on the money ..

Don't know what goes wrong, but I have same problem before. Quest simply does better with iron sight. :)
