#1 Post by Jester »

How do the 2240 Breeches from Crooked Barn and RJ Machine compare?
What other breeches are out there?

1. Plastic.
2. No scope rail.
3. Barrel can turn easily, especially with the 459mt intermounts.

The original breech is a plastic POS.

Always remember...plastic = BAD

Airsmith used to think that the plastic breeches were alright until he tried the steel breech....then he saw the light!!!! Amen....

..........LOL..........
This is why is nice to get the older Crosman, alot less plastic to no plastic at all.

I don't know much about RJ breech but I can tell you about CB breech
I got a bunch of them, it's nice if you're looking for silver look of aluminum,
very light to keep the weight of the gun down. There 4 set screws are holding the barrel,
so you don't need to use the barrel band.
CB bolt is a must have, especially if you're modding the port hole or
other alternative is Mac1 bolt, both have longer nose to push pellet
further down the barrel.

I also have a bunch of Croman steel breech, heavy duty built, it has
the longest travel for the hammer pin to move back and forth which makes
the hammer travel further also. easier to rebuild the bolt & bolt handle
in case if you want to use the original or didn't get the kit.
Nice looking matching the bluing with the tube & barrel.

Sorry Jester, I only got one left of each for spares and I still have
a couple more 2240 to mod.
I heard they're good deal from Crosman as a kit, it was like 36 bucks or
something like that, I might get some more.
