I think the parts are misaligned badly. It seems the tube and the handle form an angle. see pic below. Also , there is a big gap near the trigger !!
Is it normal to see misalignment and big gaps ? What can I do ?

My personal opinion is return it to CTC for an exchange or refund.
CTC usually gives a one year across the counter exchange or refund
with receipt.
It should not look like that. Mine sure didn't.
Are all the screws tight?

Wolf.

I would say go exchange it before you temper with it.

looks like crosman is up to their old quality control tricks... probably bored the barrel hole and breech screw hole off center.

I agree with all the above suggestions.

I never seen something like that or perhaps never noticed it, I bought a total about 8 or 9 of them this year. Mostly I took them apart as soon as i got home with them.

Good idea to take it back and get an exchange.

Hi all, I have exhanged it with another 2240. After opeing 3 of them, I found one that seems to be OK from rear sight to the handle. But the front sight is way off. I took that one in thinking that I can take off the front sight and align myself.

What I notice is that no two stock 2240 are the same ( in that particular CanTire) ! They all have different degree of crookedness. I have pick the lesser the 3 evil.

the front sight is the easiest part to fix, its just pressure fit, you can turn it if you try hard enough.
