Diana 24

#1 Post by RM422 »

What kind of velocity are you guys getting from the .22 cal diana 24 canadian version with 14.3gr pellets? I was at the gunshop on the weekend ordering a Diana 24 piston seal for my RM422 piston and the guy showed me the 24. It looks very pleasing. But he told me that the 24 in .22 cal is actually doing 550-600fps with 14.3gr pellets opposed to the advertised 495 would this be correct or an exageration to make want to buy it?

Diana 24 .177 ads = 495 fps but does upto 600 with 7gr. pellet
Diana 24 .22 ads = 430 fps, with 14.3 gr. pellet, perhaps 480 with 11.9gr.

So the .177 is obviously a better choice for more velocity. Thanks for the info.

The Diana 24's have Just been Changed....The now have a spring in them that is 2" shorter than before....They had HIGHER velocities on the 24 in both 177 cal. and 22 cal....for a none P.A.L. gun than they were supposed to have....They were getting away with this for years... The RCMP made them change....Soooo if you are going to buy one, you may get lucky and get an older one that they might have had in stock before the changes took place....If I were you, I would have it chronied first....Then you will know what you are getting....Marvin...

Thats a good idea to have it chronied first. I never actually thought of that. And if they don't agree to chrony it then I don't buy it right?
