Since I started
shooting air rifles , I'm relearning to be consistant, I've set up a bench rest in my basement with a front rest and rear bag rest, when I put the rifle at same spot and my scope is always aimed at the same spot on the target , when I release the rifle and it doesn't move and I shoot ,I get real great groupes with just about any rifle...Anyone who shoots benchrest will tell you ,you have to be consistant. I had a 6PPC which is about the most accurate cartrige out there, it will shoot under .100" but if you get distracted...it will have a mood swing ( I think that's why we give girl names to our rifle..HA HA) and when you check your target and see more than one hole...you know you've probably done something wrong. Anyway ...I remember reading about grip hold of airgun and didn't pay much attention to what was being said ....now I know . A new sport but the same basics...live and learn
Sorry for the long post

I know what you mean Bob - used to do a lot of competition and you're right - consistency is the key. Then I decided I should get interested in air guns. so I played with C02 and pumpers for the first few years and had no real problem. THEN I bought a springer - one with a LOT of thump. I'm still in the learning curve trying to get that thing to shoot up to its potential. Oh well, it's all fun
