New to airguns

#1 Post by Muhaha »

Hello all, I'm from London Ontario and am looking to get into airgunning.
I dont have an airgun yet but I am going to get a pistol soon. My mom would feak out if the mailman came to the door with a big rifle in his hands... So Im gonna start small first and maybe buy a nice rifle when I get more money. Right now Im just trying to learn as much about airgunning as I can. One question, is it possible to kill a bird or squirrel with the Daisy 15XT?

Its not a matter of wanting to kill them, rather I just want to get a sense
of how powerful these guns are. But if one of these little guys tries to cross me, he'll know whats coming for him  .

Here are some reviews on the Crosman 2240:

Here are some reviews on the Daisy 15xt:

You would be better off with any of those 3 below but it is only my opinion:
Crosman 2240 ... 1377 ... BackPacker 2289

Yep those air pistols that under500fps recommended are all good. Especially for all around target shooting and pest control.

the crossman 2240 is in my opinion the best starter pellet pistol there is, it's simple, fun, powerful enough to pack a punch, but week enough to avoid searious accidents. plus is freakign accurate.

Well actually gamerule49 those air pistols he mentioned have rifled barrels. but darts can still be shot if you want damage rifling very quickly.

Those are really nice pistols but the style does not really appeal to me. I was looking for something that looks more like your standard 9mm pistol.

You want something that looks like a 9mm. Hmmm. I'm lost on that one. Don't know offhand exactly what air pistols look like a 9mm. Maybe someone else can tell us.

I know what you mean now. Check out www.Crosman.com and click on beretta under signature series. They make what you are looking for.

a 9mm look alike can be considered a REPLICA which is prohibited to carry under Firearms act... just wanted to bring that up sooo.... get one with a birhgtly colored nozzle or sthg that distinguishes itself from a REAL gun to most simpletons.
