Have you tried www.reviewcentre.com?

Hey, don't hate. It releases negative energy, which is bad for everyone.

Excellent rifle of target shooting and general plinking, especially with indoor use.

Good points: Quiet, very accurate and low effort single stroke pump.
Single shot or 5 shoot magazine. Very inexpensive rubber magazine that is very durable and holds the pellets tight. Good solid plastic stock that feels great and very comfortable.

Bad points: Low power (460fps with common match pellets), more than enough power for target shooting and plinking. It doesn't scope well. It is design for open or peep sights. Trigger is not adjustable. It is a bit on the stiff side, but not too bad.

The 953 barrel is solidly connected to breech - transfer port - value assembly, whereas in my crosman 781/2289 the barrel is secured with a plastic barrel band only.

The 953 bolt is made of plastic. I would prefer a metal bolt with rubber o-ring like a 2289. 2289 has more space to load pellet than 953 (in single shot mode).

The 953 clip advance automatically when you pull the bolt. Quite nice.

The 953 trigger pull is heavy, but it seems it can be tuned or be modified (see Charlie detuna trigger for 953).

The 953 fiber-optic front sight is solidly attached to the barrel (much better than my 2289). The barrel weight help control the muzzle flip.

I don't know how to examine crowns. Perhaps someone here can comment on that.

The fiber-optic rear sight is adjustable but you will need a very small allen key. It is better than my 2289. There is a optional aperature / peep sight for 953.

Most users of 953 say it is accurate. I am still struggling with accuracy with my 953. I remember my first shot out my 953 using a beeman gold coated is sprial. The POI missed the target by feets ! Sometime it is deadly accurate and hit the bulleye.

The USA 953 has a advertied muzzle vel. of 560 fps. I have checked the muzzle fps on my 953. With beeman gold coat Hollowpoint (around 460 fps), beeman red coat waddcutter (420 fps), Skenco type (400 fps). Sometimes the velocities are off by about +/-20 fps from average for the same model of pellets. I am still wondering if it is a lemon gun.
