This brought back fond memorys..........

#1 Post by DoctorFrankengun »

..............so I just had to bid on it. When I was 9 years old my father bought me my first pellet gun. It was a 177 smooth bore break barrel. It didn't have much power but I had a lot of fun with it. My first can of pellets were Bulldog brand.

I don't know if I will shoot these, probably not because I am sure that pellets have come a long way since these were made and there are better choices for accurate shooting. Maybe I will save them until my grandsons are old enoug

Yep I know those bulldog pellets. A buddy of mine has almost a full tin of them that he shoots from his falke model 80. The reason he still has almost a full tin is because he only shoots pests with his airguns. I have to say they are very good pellets and penetrate very deep into wood.

At one time I kept all my empty cans of pellets. I'll bet I had atleast 40 empty cans of 500's and they were all Bulldog pellets. That was the only brand they sold around here except for Crosman flatheads in the can and nobody shot them unless Bulldog was sold out.

Bulldog Pellets

The next time you are driving south/north, stop in Haileybury and/or Sudbury.
The hardware store in Haileybury has 30+ years old stock of probably a dozen cardboard boxes of 100 only .22 Bulldog pellets.
The Shooter's Den in Sudbury has several tins of 500 only .177 Bulldog pellets in stock, from an estate, @ $5 CDN each per tin the last time that I looked.

They are manufactured by Lanes Pellets Ltd. in UK.

I seen a few cans of them at Gobles gun shop in London when I was there. I should have picked them up. Yes, they do bring back memories! I think they use to be $1.99 at our hardware store back in the '80's. Many a starling fell to the original Bulldog!
