That is correct, when you tighten the two screw, it grips both the scope and the gun.
The aluminum use to make these mounts are truly 'aircraft grade'.

It is probably higher grade than the stuff that BKL uses. They have a certain springiness to them and very hard. The shape is well designed, when you tighten the mount, they grip hard and even. The scope is not moving thats for sure. If you tighten them too much, they can bit into the paint and pot metal of the MK1.

The MK1 has two grooves/shoulders on both sides of the receiver. The mount bottoms and squares on them, so it mounts solid and true.
