Maccari Patriot Spring

#4 Post by ScottC »

I've got a Maccari Patriot spring sitting in front of me and the wire is 0.148" with 39 full coils plus about 0.130" extra. The OAL is 13.5625" and the ID is 0.565".

Just out of curiosity, do you have a Patriot? I've got a .177 carbine.

Hey thanks ScottC. I wish I had the Patriot ( I'm working on it) I'de rather have the Beeman Kodiak ( same gun just a better finish) But I wanted to know the specs to see if it would fit in my Diana 34 or even my Diana 48. May give a bit more zip.

The free length of the spring in the 34 is 11 inches , outside diameter is 20mm, and the inside diameter is 15mm and there are 33 coils. Wire thickness is 3mm Sorry don't have a vernier gauge.

The Kodiak and the Patriot are the same.

I have seen and played with both and they are virtually identical except the stamping of the name. However if you are going to get one, I would say for the extra money get the walnut stock.

Yes I agree Scott ! For the extra 50 or so dollars the Walnut stock is the way to go.

Hi Cadeau ,
The Webley Patriot spring is waaay tooo much spring for even the Diana 350 magnum ..let alone the 34 or the 48 , it has been used in 350 magnums before ...but after it was chopped down to fit .
How much zip are you getting from the 34 and 48 and how much are you looking for ...what calibers are they ?

Regards ,
Frank
