Anyone need some custom Wood Work? NEW PICS

#1 Post by Wrong Way »

I started a new company last year building high end furniture from rare and exotic woods (Including "Georgian Bay Wet Woods", Virgin old growth timber that sank on it's way to the mill 150 years ago, and recently recovered.....amazing stuff!) Anyway, seeing as I have the tools, materials and the skill set, is there anything my fellow airgunners would like to see available?

Some of my smaller pieces can be seen on my website:

Think these would look good? The first (and last) set I will make....far too time consuming to be viable!

Sorry for the delay! Computer was being re-built (again :x ) Anyway, these would sell for $49 US plus shipping. OR I am always up for trades. (Gun stuff, tools, etc.)

I guess the first one is the hardest.
Make a simple 'U' duplicator and the next set will come out lickiddy split.

Better yet, if you have a mini CNC mill. Clamp a big blank down, walk away and come back latter with a hand full of grips done.

Always interested in making sawdust for $$$ (After all, that's what I do for a living  )

Cherry, while not common in rifle stocks, does look AWESOME when finished properly. It's probably my favorite wood to work with.

I'd be happy to make your stock......just let me know when your ready to start the design process,

well i got a few questions.

1. do i need to supply you with wood?

2. what is the design proces? what are the steps?

3. are you located in ontario?

i know its hard for you with all the different variables, but about how much will a basic stock and forearm cost? thanks for your time, im tired of the look and feel of plastic.

1. Nope. I have anything you could ever want.

2. You give me an idea of what styles you would like, materials you want, etc. and a deposit (20 percent is the norm). I then do the design and drawings and submit them for your approval. With your approval you forward an additional deposit of 40%, and I build and finish the stock (s). When its finished, You can either come to my studio (I'm just north of Barrie) or I send you photos. If you are happy, you pay the balance and I ship your stock.

3. It really depends! Ive done stocks from 100.00 to 2500.00....depends on what you want. Do you have a budget in midnd? Thats usually a better place to start.

hmmmmmm budget.................. lets say $200.00. what kinds of wood would you suggest? im thinking walnut, if that isnt too exspensive. as for design, i wouldn't realy know. maybe something like rb stocks, but a little longer in length than the stock stock on the 2289. oh, almost forgot about the pump arm. maybe something like the super pumper forarm, or the stock pump arm desing in wood. what do you say am i asking too much for the price?

Walnut is nice. Your budget is reasonable for a simple design. Where it gets pricey is the fancy stuff. Thumbholes, checkering, stippling, french polish, etc.

Can you post some pics of the style you like?

the basic design i was thinking of: http://www.rbgrips.net/superpumper.jpg this is the forearm design. (sorry dont know how to post links or pics. just highlight copy and paste in adress bar.)

http://www.rbgrips.net/stocks.html theese are the stocks i like. in walnut on the 1377s.

that is what i would like. oh, and how long would one of theese stocks and forearms take you to make? excluding shipping, if your just north of barrie ill pick it up. and can you supply me with screws for the stock?

I see what your looking for.....woould you mind if I make it nicer? LOL. It would take about a week, depending on the finish you want (hand rubbed oil is faster, "piano finish" gloss is alot slower. Yes, you can pick up, and I would probably replace the screws with brass/brass cups anyway.
