Rav3n's 2240 Custom!

#1 Post by Rav3n »

Hello im new to the forum, I have been lurking it for about 2 months and decided to post when I actually have something worth while to contribute. Instead of just clogging up the forum with another "hey guys im new!!" useless thread im actually going to post some content. So... i've been into airguns (and pretty much every other type of gun) for a while now. I also like to make things, so me thinks why not combine the two. Any way I now present to you my work in progress.

It is of course the ever popular Crosman 2240.
As you can see i've made a few changes
Image

Wooden Grips, Compensator, Bigger Bolt handle, and trigger shoe all made by me. I Plan on adding a longer barrel, a wooden stock, metal breech, a scope, and some valve mods.

let me know what you guys think

Welcome .... aboard .....

That is a beautiful set of grip .... I've been looking for something like that
for last months since I've been shooting with EB20 which has similar grip.
I was thinking if I could just have one like that on my stock 2240, the one
that I would keep as a handgun since the rest are already converted to
rifles.

good job ..... congratulations.

Thanks guys, as for the front sight blade I haven't gotten around to making it yet. I go to SAIT and thats where I made every thing (exept the grips) and now that im on christmas break I cant use all their wonderful equpment. When I come in for year 2 im going to make a whole bunch of things. The grips were made in my garage they are try number 6. They are made out of cedar with a teak stain and a clear coat if you catch them at the right angle they gleam. they werent that hard to make I just used a dremel and lots and lots of sanding. If any of you guys live in Calgary I might be able you make you a few things but not until I get back to school.

Try shooting it sightless for a while, it's fun.
and surprisingly easy and accurate.

best way i've found so far: hold the pistol out in front of you at arms leanght at eye level.
Don't attempt to conciously sight along the barrel or anything.
Just keep both eyes open, and look at the target.

Stop now while you still can!!! Those Crosman dudes are pushers and the 2240 is their drug of choice. If you don't stop now you will end up wanting more and more of those 22XX things; soon you won't have money to buy lunch.

BTW excellent job! Especially the grips.

Your 2240

#12 Post by Deagle Watch »

Your 2240 looks classic, but i cant give you my opinoin because i dont know how old the gun is, its power(Fps), and wat type of wood its is, but jst by looking at it i could say its a good 7/10.

Whether it's 2 months old, 2 years old, or 2 minutes old....if you don't have the experience (it's not the age issue but the experience), you don't really have the right to score or criticize an airgun made by somebody else.
