More parts for my next mod

#1 Post by DoctorFrankengun »

My next mod will be on a 1322 that I got from K&S. I just won this ebay auction..................

http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie ... %3AIT&rd=1

These sights will go on a 22LR barrel with a custom metal breach.

It is a good thing that it takes 4 to 6 weeks to get stuff from USA through the mail, I would be tempted to start on it before my other work is done

Just remember the rifling and twists are different on a RF as opposed to an airgun, from what I was told by airsmiths.

How so?

Hey, don't hate. It releases negative energy, which is bad for everyone.

Cut deeper and designed for a larger diameter .22 bullet. I heard this from 3 different gunsmith's when I was looking into it. MAC LD from the states builds custom .22 barrels and will know for sure.

yeah, the distance between the lands in a rimfire is generally .224" you'll have one hell of a time finding pellets that will shoot well. the skirts might be just fine, but the head needs to touch the rifling all the way around. i found some beeman pellets should work great, did the research since i'll be using a rimfire barrel as well :D i found that i need pellets with a head diameter of at least .217" with my particular barrel.

nice sights by the way.

This may sound totally crazy 8-[ but if I can't find pellets that work well I am going to try casting my own.

Years ago when I reloaded I had a bullet mold for my 44 mag. I think that I can make a mold for producing pellets. Another option may be to build a resizing die for existing pellets.

My idea is to build the gun first and work out the problems later :-k

Velocity will be the key here, that is why PCP's work best for heavier pellets.

you shouldnt have any problems with the beeman pellets. theres a few that have the right size heads. crow magnums, fts, kodiak, cant remember the rest, but the fts has the largest head size. but yeah, making your own would be cool, guaranteed people would want you to make them to sell

Thanks for the pellet info. Beeman Crow magnums I have seen but I don't know anything about fts. Will have to do some research.

The Crow mags really expand well!

I have Contender sights on my 1377 and they work well.

regular .22 barrels work great for pellets . i have used at least 25 22cal rifle barrels on pellet guns . land to land is smaller then most crosman barrels so they give a good fit .
i use copper head wodcuters alot but i have also used ten other kinds all work well.

jezx, what brand barrels are you using? when you measure i.d. do you measure from land to land, or rifling to rifling, or rifling to land? out of the 3 barrels i tested they were all way too big. only one was slightly smaller, so i used that one.
