How would I go about removing the front the sight from my 2240?

Hey, don't hate. It releases negative energy, which is bad for everyone.

I think it should just be a firm pull and maybe add some twist to, the 2289 front sight is the same, right? That's how it came off the 2289. HTH,

Get a piece of wood and knock it toward the front .... and out it goes....

To put it back I usually would line it up first with the rear sight and knock
it slowly/softly untill it's tight ... that's it .... a couple seconds in and out.
I've done it too many times after modding 9 - 2240's ...

The sight is just pressure fit. My trick is to run the sight under hot wter for a minute or so and voilà....it should pull off easily.

I found a couple of 2240 that front sight never line up with the rear because port hole is slightly off centre with the place of the front sight
the easiest fix for that is to drill and use set screw from the bottom.

To use a set screw, do I need to drill into the barrel too ?

Also it would be nice to drill a channel to insert a fiber optic green plastic. Is it important to make sure the channel lining up with the barrel ?

No, no need to drill the barrel, just the front sight.

yes, that had been done before. Yes, I did try it but it's easier just get 2289 front sight is already done with the glo-sight.

yes, everything should line up properly because at the breech the port hole has to line up and then it goes right across to the front of the barrel to the front sight, which is diagonally the opposite side of port in the breech.
