if you are under 10 yards with it u can use either domed or pointed pellets
but it has to be within the first 10 shots of a new c02 cartridge
kill it with fire

Also would a 2240 with just a shoulder stock and 24' barrel be enough to humanely kill a squirrel?

how accurate with a Zoom scope would a 2240 with be? How far will the gun retain accuracy?
Would it be able to hit a quarter at say fifty meters?

A word to the wise, I hope you're planning on shooting these birds during warm weather, otherwise you'll probably just injure/annoy them because you'll be able to see the pellets lobbing from the barrel.

I gave up trying to shoot the 357 outdoors below 5 deg celsius' cause I'd only get 1 decent shot before the pellets started dribbling out the front or getting stuck in the barrel.

if u do the internal mods for the 2240 upgrade it to a bulk fill or even nitros yes you could easliy peg off a quarter...but with lots of practice
kill it with fire

must be an old 357 there to do that bad we shoot our 357's in -20 and colder and manage to crack off at lease 30 good shots a peice mind you after 20 shots they wimp out a bit but i never seen the pellets start dribble out till i go past 35 shots.. I push all my guns for all they are worth so far only my springers stand up to the cold cold northern winters the best .... any how its all fun.. might want to try a hot shot chemical pad inside the grip on the 357 to keep the bottle warm in cold shooting, i dont know iam not a hunter but id use a 2240 its cleaner and you can crack off at least a good 10 shots in cold weather before its usless ,,it gets colder faster then handgrip access co2 guns so it wimps out faster unless you keep it in your jacket between shots lol any how have fun..

I've shot woodcocks dead at 5 yards with the Crosman 38t ( same power)
I'm sure if they were 6 yards away they would have flown away just to dies somewhere of lead poisoning. Unless you are absolutly sure you can make a head shot at 10 yards then don't bother to shoot.

357? Little bird? No prob. My and brother shot tons of little birds 70-30ft with our 781s, and they are only 5 fps faster. Just to be humane, though, I wouldn't shoot past 50 ft.

Hey, don't hate. It releases negative energy, which is bad for everyone.

50 meters is a long way . i think your pellet would drop 10'' . a .22cal at 1000f/s will drop about 5'' at 50meters . i think you should stick to 30 feet 50 at the most . if you can hit a quarter at 40feet you'l be doing good.
