'safeties' don't make guns safe, good handling practices do.
Actualy, seriously if im not going to shoot my 2250 right that instant i de-cock it, im not sure what benifiet the safety gives me in this case.

i keep my gun pumped all the time but i dont cock the bolt which eliminates the gun going of if trigger is pulled i just wait for a squirrel or rabbit to pop into view and i load it......thats y i dont think it such a big deal to have a saftey

Well that's hunting which is different. If I hunted I'd do what you do when I'm in the field, but we're talking about storage here.
