Besure that there wasn't a barrel release lever on that gun at one time. If I understand you correctly, once you take the pivot bolt out and seperate the barrel from the latch, it works fine-am I right? If there was a barrel release lever on the gun, you should see the area where it was attached to the gun. Take the stock off and look on the left hand side near the breech area. If there was a barrel release lever on it, there will be a threaded hole where the lever attached. If there is such a hole, I think you found the problem-get the lever and mounting fastener. Kevin at K+S airguns will probably have it.

is there any name or model # on the back (top) of the barrel? I have almost the same.

It's a chinese rifle from Shanghai Air Guns / Industry Brand. Like Webstien already said: It's probaly an old version of the B2. These old models are most of the time marked with " model 62" (or "Model 61" for the present B1)

you can use the exploded view of an Slavia 625, it's almost the same:

Hey guys. Actually I said before there were no marking but actually there are. They are barely visible unless you shine a bright light on。

Also I am fairly certain there is no barrel release so that is not the problem. The problem is definately just the little pivot thingy, it cocks closed but not open like it sticks out too far to pivot or something.[/i]
