2240 Trigger Tuning Help!

#1 Post by Gotrice23 »

I'm trying to do this tune ---> http://crosmanmods.cjb.net/. The instructions are very vague. Can someone give me more detailed instructions with photos? Please?

There isn't realy a whole lot too it...
Basicaly you just smooth and polish all the places on the sear trigger and hammer that touch eachother. Being careful not to change their shape.
rub in a dab of moly if you have it.

Then you got a lighter spring for under the sear.

That site there suggests removing a bit of metal to shorten the amount of engagement between the hammer and sear, but im not sure i see the point, my 2250 trigger is under 2 pounds and i only did what i described above.

I did my stuff with a dremel, abrasive buff and a felt wheel.

One of the trigger tunes also mentions drilling the holes larger on the trigger and sear, and using flanged nylon bushings. It's the 2289 tune but I think it would also work on the 2240 for a nice smooth trigger (I don't know what the differences are between the two triggers though).
