So do u think a 2240 with a 24"barrel tasco3-7X scope and shoulder stock wold be a good squirrel hunting rifle with just head and neck shots?
Also how far should the maximum distance be for humane kills with this setup.
that could easliy take out a squirrel at 30 yaRDS with pointed pelltes domed, or wadcutters but i would go for a headshot ,and i also wouldnt shott in colder weather, co2 is afffected by cold air, u should try to go for a bulk fill set up if u want

2250 is not available in Canada. The only way is to bring it in from US, and
must be registered. But then you still have to change the barrel if you want
24", 2250 only comes with 14" barrel.
I would go bulk but how expensive would that be? (in Canadian dollars) I'm only fourteen u no... And don't u have to get the parts from the states?
And thanks for the info

Yes, bulk is a must have, it's cheaper in the long run, gets alot of shots
out of a bottle and cheap to refill, and more consistent power as well.
With Cooper-T, you're looking at about 90 bucks Canadian total, at your
house and then you need like 9oz bottle or bigger, that's an additional
50 bucks with a manual on/off shut off valve. So $ 140 should do it ....

Well 40 yards using Predator pellets with my 2240 is no problem for a field use. But a mininum 14" barrel, optics, and shoulder stock will increase your effectiveness when hunting. Everyone keeps talking about bulk and there is a a reason for that and that is a 2240 with valve/spring mods will experience inconsistant performance using 12 g bulbs. The 12 g bulb just does not have enough volume to power a 2240 fully modded consistantly, hence the fact most serious airgunners switch to bulk. Next step is to use HPA/Nitro as compressed air does not lose performance due to lower tempertures such as CO2.
Yes, Randy is absolutely correct beside you'll be popping powerlet every
10 to 15 shots. If you're only concern about the look, well it always
looks good hanging on the wall .....
I was getting 25-30 500-540 fps shots per 12g shooting Crosman Wadcutters, hunting pellets or Daisy Max-Speed pointy pellets. That's with a 2240, mild valve work * and a 14" barrel from a 2289.
With the crappy 4x15 scope I was knocking sparrows out of the trees around the office at 30-40m. Now its sporting a 4 x 32 Crosman scope and an el cheapo bulk setup. A friend of mine in California sent me 2 dummy 12g cartridges for $30 and I already had the mini-cocker vert ASA in my paintball parts kit (cost me something like $20 at a local paintball shop). I have a decent selection of CO2 tanks from 3.5/4 oz up to 20oz.
Now I can shoot all day long at a consistent 535 +/-5 fps. And with the improved optics I should be able to reach out past 50 m.
* Bold text added for emphasis. I have more radical plans for the valving but I need to pick up a spare valve before I get into that. . . I know from practical experience in paintball that 22 ftlbs is possible using CO2 as a propellant. That should put me up around 800+ fps.

PM me for FTP/valve combos, RVAs, DPHs and assorted brass accents
your only getting 535 fps with that or are you still using those little 12 g powerletes?
and if you want to get serious with all of those little squirlllys get NOS
crack them out of trees at 70 yrds + i got a pumper 2289 and at 30 pumps (826) i can nock squirels out of the tree at 60 yards every single time with crosman pointed pellets.
