D 350 magnum (.22 cal)

#1 Post by Cadeau »

I don't understand how Diana increses it's foot per second velocities just by changing a stock. What I researched was the Diana 350 magnum and the Diana 34 , Diana 48, Diana 52 all use the same mainspring and piston seal. Diana 34 and the Diana 350 magnum have the identical barrel length and cocking effort but factory specs are showing the Diana 350 magnum having a muzzle velocity of 250 fps faster then Diana 34. I really want to buy the Diana 350 magnum because of it's proclaimed factory power specs but I hate to put the money out just for a stock change.
. I just sold my Diana 34 for the purpose of buying the 350 magnum.

Straight Shooters even says their test results fall "well short" of factory specs. http://straightshooters.com/ourtake/otr350.html

If your info can prove what I posted to be wrong please post it. There is a D350 magnum out there waiting for a home and I have the home.... but tests are over hyped. thanks

Diana 34 vs 350 spring.

#2 Post by RossB »

The Diana 34 mainspring is part # 303236
The Diana 350 mainspring is part # 305138
If I recall correctly;
-the 24 mainspring is .122" wire
-the 350 mainspring is .126" wire
The 350 has more swept volume than the 34.
The pistons and cocking arms are different.
They use the same spring guide.

Hey There...

I think the difference is that the compression chamber is longer, quite a bit longer in fact...

If I get a chance,, I will go out and measure both the compression chamber of the 350 and the 48..

The 350 is an awesome gun..
I've had mine for several months,, and have shot some Really nice tight groups with it, and have taken various small game..

Although I haven't chrono'd the 350 however,, it puts the pellet down range at a speed that I'm satisfied with, whether is 950 or less..

I beleive the 350 is destined to become a legend in the RWS fleet..

No, bad idea, keep both, they're totally different rifles altogether - shooting character.

Too late Sniper I sold it yesterday for $225.00 Very nice condition it was in too. But one more thing anout your comparison . If the 350 spring is longer and stronger ( thicker wire) wouldn't the cocking effort be much greater then thr D34 ?

Not really perhaps it's about the same or less. The D350 cocking feels more linear and D34 is more progressive. Perhaps because the different cocking mechanism, single & dual arms ....

Ok now I understand ! I did not know that the D350 had a hindge type cocking arm. That would make a difrence.
I guess my research about the comparision of the two guns were way off. I'm glad to be proven wrong :)
