Any way, I am working on a homemade ghillie suit, a set of grips for my 1377 I am someday gonna get, and a gun rack. I am also thinking about a thumbhole match stock for my 781, but I am kinda worried about making the part where it attaches to the reciever. C'mon, post

Sounds like it's going to be really good ..... but what's the hurry with the valve ....Jester wrote:I am currently working on a 2240, and a custom stock for my QB78. I just finished a shroud for the QB which looks really cool in camo. I can't decide if I should try to paint the rest of the gun with camo or not.
It'll be awhile before you need it ....
Hey Sniper, heres Don Mains webpage http://www.geocities.com/airgun177/
From what ive read, he has been around for a while now. His stocks are diy blanks that have been inletted for qb78's and cr160's.
He's real easy to deal with, and will do any shape you want for a little bit extra $.
They come about 2inches thick so you have lots "uh oh" room for errors. I have invested in an orbital sander from ctire so far to speed things up. And also have my dremel. But i really am in no hurry to mess things up. This is my first try at shaping a big piece of wood like this. So its slow and steady for me.

I'm currently building a stock for my 2260. It's a pistol grip, thumb through design I'm carving out of oak.
I was gonna post a picture, but as soon as I went to take one my old man informed me in no uncertain terms that I was a damned fool and the gestapo was gonna come for me in the night if I took a picture of it. I didn't feel like a debate so I gave up on it for now. I'll sneak you guys a picture eventually.
Anyway, I've been at it for the last week and am pretty proud of the result. I started with 3/4" X 7 5/8" oak planks. Cut a couple of "blanks" in the rough shape I wanted and then used 1/2" oak to fill out the center. I did the rough shaping with hammer and chisel and used a dremel to do the detailed bits.
Tommorrow I'm taking out the belt sander and it'll go down to fighting trim. I plan on using danish oil for the finish and perhaps some lacquer over that if I feel like getting fancy.
