Slavia 630 - got a few questions

#1 Post by jimi »

Hi guys

I received a Slavia 630 for Christmas when I was 12 making this year 16 years service . I would really like to restore her to original performance and apperance, any help would be greatly appreciated , Any links in working with springers would also be very helpfull. I have never removed the spring and I don't want the first to be 100 % trial and error. I am not looking to mod this rifle just give it a really good tune-up.

thanks a bunch

For a tune up you could buy either some moly lube or superlube. Both work great. Just make sure you buy a high concetrated tube of moly like 60%+. If you can't find that then go to Can. Tire and buy some moly high extreme pressure grease and buy a tube of graphite powder. Then mix some moly grease and graphite powder in a seperate container until the moly grease turns totally pitch black. Don't worry you can't really put an overdose of graphite powder in the grease because it all gets mixed. 3-4 generous squeezes of the tube will be more than fine though depending on the size of the container you are mixing it in. You can apply this to your spring and piston.

As for superlube you can buy that at NAPA. And you don't need to do anything to that. It works just as well.

Taking you spring out isn't hard just take the gun off the stock. Then take the back off of the gun. Pull your spring out and piston. Since you said that you aren't interested in power modding then order a spring for a Slavia 630 or 631 from a dealer. You can check www.Dlairgun.com and e-mail him about the parts you need. He may have them because he deals with Slavia airguns. Hope this helps.

your probably going to want to buy a new spring and piston seal as well.

See here for my guide to the slavia 631 breakdown. You can buy a replacement spring at Gunbroker.com but im not sure about the seal. Maybe dlairgun.com?
