2240 Front Breech Screw ?? Holy Cow!!

#1 Post by On/Scene Tactical »

Hey Guys....

Ok who's the Wise guy who decided to put such a small flipping screw in the front of the breech..
OMG..

I can't find an allen key that will fit it..

took the 2240 wrapped in a towel to CT and HH to find an allen key..No such luck,,go figure..

Ok where do you get these small allen keys ??
Got my parts kit,,and I'm at a standstill until I get this particular tool...

Any help would be Great..

Thanks

Eric....

The correct size is 0.050". I have two or three of them kicking around here. Any half decent set of imperial (ie. non-metric) allen keys should come with one.

Just get the closest size to it you can, and just file a little bit off each side until it fits. I thought the breech kit came with allen keys, BTW. That's what it says on crosman.com...

Hey, don't hate. It releases negative energy, which is bad for everyone.

I happened to have a set of precision screwdrivers, and took it off with a 1.2mm one.

that is until i got a RJ steel breech which came with all the hex keys.

Is the front breach screw the same on all the 22xx? I aks because I just got my 2289g and I have the same tool and the torx seems to big for it. There is also the posibilty that I have a slightly different model that might just have the different size.

I think all the screws are the same on all 22XX guns.....the tool I have definitly works for me....a perfect fit....maybe there are differences between tips included .....I just thought they were all the same.... sounds like there's a difference between the tool you got and the one I got.....can't win them all...... :axe:

You need an allen key, not torx.
