1. Copper Clads will shoot well on worn or newer rifle barrels because larger diameter of ball will always seat well. Wear to the bore over time is an unknown factor.
2. The more Precision made Graphites will shoot poorly with numerous flyers if the barrel is worn at all. Flyers are a result of ball deflections when exiting bore and momentary contact with lands & grooves as balls accelerate through the barrel. Essentially these balls must be used with new barrels or barrels with tight fit for 5.50 balls.
3. Many of the Lobo balls will shoot better than graphites in worn bore rifles simply because the out-of-roundness includes dimensions greater than 5.50 which can be captured by the worn lands. Many flyers will also occur for reasons indicated in second paragraph.
4. The barrel size literally dictates whether precision balls can be shot.
5. For example.... My worn gun cannot shoot Graphites AT ALL!. The balls are completely out of control.
-It can shoot some very poor groups of Lobo's at shorter distances.
-It can shoot Copper Clads & standard pellets because of skirt expansion.
To sum it up..... If possible bore wear is not a problem, then every rifle including worn ones can benefit from Copper Clads.
Fewer if any, rifles will benefit from Graphites unless they always fit tight.
Same with Lobos.
I blew my original pump arm seal from over-shooting. Now all I get is puff-puff power.
