Start Your Own Airgun Club Today!!
So this is how it basically works; You have a bunch of friends that like airguns. You have to choose a secretary and they sign and send a Registration and Order Form for the Crosman Air Gun Shooting Program along with $6 in a cheque or money order for each member. Then you wait until they send a participation certificate along with a supply order form for manuals, targets, and crests(badges). There also rules;
Official Crosman Air Gun Shooting Program targets must be used.
Awards must be won in order and there is no time limit in which to complete a set of targets. Targets with a higher score than currently required may be saved to apply against a higher award later.
Targets need not be fired consecutively. Targets must be properly witnessed by two (2) members of the Club.
Ten shots are fred on each target. If a competitor fires more than ten (10) shots on a target, only the ten lowest scoring shots are counted and a penalty of two additional points will be subtracted for each shot in excess of ten.
Club secretaries are responsible for collecting and counting the targets and recording the score and crests on order forms. This procedure eliminates the necessity of mailing in the used targets, thus keeping your postage fees down. Order forms along with a cheque or money-order for the crests should be mailed to Crosman Air Gun Shooting Program, c/o Shooting Federation of Canada, Connaught Ranges, 45 Shirley Blvd., Nepean, Ontario, K2K 2W6.
Scoring: All shots are scored by giving them the value of the highest scoring ring they touch. If any part of the line between two rings is touched, that shot receives the higher value. Any official .177 air rifle or air pistol gauge may be used to score doubtful shots.
Equipment: Any .177 calibre rifle or pistol compatible with ISSF Regulations must be used. The rifle should permit single loading; trigger pull must be at least 1 kilogram. Only iron sights are allowed (ie. open/peep sights).
"W Cutter" type pellets may to be used to better define the shots on the target.
The distance between the shooter and the target must be 10 meters (33 feet).
This qualification does not provide an official SFC classification. The SFC official classification can be earned only at registered competitions.
(Rules copy and pasted from http://sfc.ncf.ca/programs_eng.htm#crosman-e. Registration instructions taken from the same page, just adapted to a simpler form.)
Hope this helps,

What right does it give u as to where one can shoot? do u get to shoot at ranges only or can you shoot legally on private property?
What I am asking is that by creating a "club" can you and the members use rural property belonging to one of the members to go shooting?

They provide targets and order forms for manuals, handbooks, etc. If you want to find out email the Canadian Shooting Foundation at: SFC@ncf.caJester wrote:I didn't read the site completey so this is probably a dumb question, but what is the benefit of sending away $6 per person rather than just setting up your own private club? Do they provide insurance, or prizes? Or even the targets?

I'm not sure, but I know that they provide you with a certifacte of particapation. This certificate might let you shoot on private property, but I'm not sure.sammy wrote:What right does it give u as to where one can shoot? do u get to shoot at ranges only or can you shoot legally on private property?
