Best air pistol

#1 Post by randyhub »

I have a 2240 that has been turned into a carbine, what is the best air/CO2 handgun out there, the Beretta, felt like a real gun, the HW 45, Skiff?? Any comments would be appreciated.

Yeah, the Beretta is great, but not the best out there. If your looking for accuraccy in a real looking gun, go for the Colt 1911. Buy a CR600, if you can find one.

For my own use, out of my 9 pistols, it has to be my Gamo Compact with the pistol grip trim down to fit my hands.
One easy pump.
Good light trigger.
Quiet.
Good adjustable sight.
Very low maintenance.
Easy to be accurate with.
True 360 fps with CopperHead Wadcutter.

Depends what you want it for...

Accuracy? Pick any of the good target pistols. I've got a Airmatch 600 and an IZH-46M both of which I really like. I had a HW40 and didn't like the way it fit me but alot of other peolpe swear by them.

Power? For cold weather shooting I'd go with the HB22. It's one of my favourites because of it's size and quality construction. You could also go with the 1322 which you might have to mod or finally the HW45. I've had 2 HW45's and have let them both go. Both were accurate, powerful and well built. I just don't like the Weirauch design when it come to their pistols.

Fun gun? Take you pick of any of the CO2 look-alikes. I've never played with any of the Umarex guns so I can't really comment except that they look nice but are too expensive (I've always wanted the CP88) for what you get. I have had the Crosman 357 and the C40 and I like them both with the C40 being my favourite of the 2.

My 2 cents.
