Crossman 1077 parts Availability ??

#1 Post by On/Scene Tactical »

Hey Guys...

I'm in the process of getting yet two more air rifles..
A basket case 1077 with Walnut stock. Have no idea what is wrong with it, but it is in pieces.

The other is also a 1077 with a problem.

When a C02 powerlet is installed it shoots poorly for several shot,, then seems to shoot fine for awhile, then goes back to shooting poorly again...

Don't have either of them yet,, however this is what I'm told by the owner.

I'm thinking it's a dirty valve,, or a valve problem...

From what I'm reading on the 1077, it seems to be a very popular rifle, fairly easily rebuilt, however I'm not sure about the availability of parts.

If all else fails,, hopefully I can at least build one rifle out of parts...

ttyle

Hi Eric,

You will have fun working on 1077, I own one for over 2 years now and
take it out time to time. I worked on it several time before I got it right.
Mine was doing the same as you described. I took it apart and mod the
valve spring with a lighter one and open up the port and all problems solved.
The one thing that will make your eye balls pop out is when you open up
the side body cover ..... a bunch of little parts (springs) will pop out up in
the air ..... and that's when you start swearing ....lol..... if you haven't
giving up at the that point when you take apart the valve .... more little
parts will jump out before your eyes ....lol.... lots of fun .....

edit change start here

check the end seal screen take out the end seal make sure to reoil it when you put it back in any how take out the pericing cap and then remove the screen do not damage the screen or you will be ordering a new one .. make sure the screen is clear if so the reassemble oil all moving parts 1 drop per is more then good ..
if this does not work then goto the next step as
there is not alot to go wronge on them id order in a new valve assembley youre also going to need some new quad seals as well because of the tube that goes form the co2 neck to the valve, best to replace if your going to rebuil it ..get a new hammer spring as well, reasemble the gun if all is good then mod the heck out of it if thats what you want to do to it , also get in a new end seal 38-128 same in over 90% of the crosman guns these days..lol ,,,Try just replacing the hammer spring first then if that dont fix it up then replace the valve stuff next..on a weak spring just cut of a coil and reshape the end that latches to the plastic post and fire away good way to see if its the hammer spring at all,..if that dont fix it then orderin the new valve and seals and rebuild the sucker, also check the screen under the pericing cap as well see if its cloged up with gunk...one or 2 flakes of contaminit is all it takes to jam up the gas hole and will also get irratic power problems as well... just some ideas for you to look into ....

i have a 1077 as well and it gave me some trouble as well i put in a new hammer spring and its better then it was new out of the box, it lives on my rack now most of the time iam more into the springers now and pump ups for now...

happy shooting
