The high speed photography crap about distortion of a lead pellet compared, look more like a light reflection on the lead pellet nose to me.

The good thing about this URL is the wind tunnel photo of a pellet. That drag and the drag shape(parachute) is what I have been YAPPING about for so long when discussing ball advantages. Now it can be seen clearly!. A ball would not have near that severe a drag form.

So even if he stole Tcoopers TOP GUN name..... the URL still has info we can use. :) -LarryS

Hey, don't hate. It releases negative energy, which is bad for everyone.

I still have 2 boxes of 177 cal pointed and 2 boxes of 177 cal truncated of any one wants any

NOTE:do not shoot the Prometheus pellets at a metal trap/steel trap they are not lead heads there steel, they will increase the FPS of your gun as well being that they area much lighter pellet...also the Prometheus pellets are not that new to the market i have had some for about 3 years now.i first learned of them threw a chap i meet really cool guy really. its also how i leaned alot about other pellets then just crosman and daisy ,, iam totaly hooked on rws now even though i do use crosman and now several other pellets types and weights and so on for testing with i prefer the RWS Series my self but its not up to me alone my guns choose what they shoot the best with..

just yesterday i was testing a newer style 760 pump master and the only pellet out of to many to count. it only like the daisy premier pointed pellets and grouped well with them all shots stayed in the black even got one in the bulls eye, the other pellets all strayed .....

any help this has been thats cool with me

any how happy shooting every one

do not even think of buying those things!...........unless you like ruined rifling and a gumbed up barrel from the plastic bits. seriously those are probably the worst pellets you can get for an air rifle.

I have 12 tins of all kinds cals. from Skenco:
http://www.skenco.com/

I only use them in 2240/2250 (7",14",24") barrels and 1077 which I don't
really care much since 2250 barrels are very cheap. they loads very nice
and smooth and I haven't seen any damage to the barrel from the plastic
sabot or gum up. I don't really like the idea to use the metal one since
airgun barrels are soft steel. I heard bad news on them but never seen it
my self.

If only ONE happens to chamber a little crooked....... OR, if you have high relief Lands in your barrel......

Then either case can chew thru the soft plastic enough to cause the steel head to plow up your rifling.

The pellets only protection against milling the lands or plowing new grooves is that soft girth of plastic. Not worth the risk......even in the Rhino Rifle. -LarryS

The accuracy, I have to say it's very good, considering the velocity climb up quite a bit.
Penetration - it's got to be the best I ever seen since pellets, I would
recommend these pellets for hunting for sure.

Promethus

tryed Promethus years ago i would not shoot them in high power spring guns they are just to light .I think most airguns were made to shoot lead not zinc pellets .I never found them to be that accurate but that was in a few gun i tryed .I have heard to many bad reports on them over my 30 years of shooting air rifles to risk damaging one of my rifles shooting them

In my opinion the 'plastic' Prometheus pellets are absolutely worthless! The 'sabot' is supposed to separate from the 'dart' - the actual pellet - upon impact, well, it doesn't! The idea behind this projectile is great, but in practice you get a pellet that goes all over the place and leaves a sticky goo in your barrel. I've tried them in a Diana 46 in 4.5 mm. and in a HW100 and an FX2000 [both @ 28 FtLbs] in 5.5 mm. and I'll never use them again. Oh, they will shoot through an old car door at 20 yards, but how often do you need to shoot an old car door...?
However[!], Prometheus also produce the Dynamic range, no plastic and no lead! That means non-toxic, if you care. The PCP 2 weighs 14.5 grains, and will shoot one hole groups at 30 yards. That's one hole after a 14 shot HW100 magazine. [Well, yes, kneeling -I'm not that good a shot....] For those of you who hunt: penetration is very good, but there is practically no deformation. For the HW100, the PCP 2 in 5.56 is now my standard, day to day pellet. [They're also available in 5.54]. Be sure to get the right type, some are too long to use in a magazine. Prometheus website will tell you which one goes into what gun..
