Have you tested the velocity of your HW97K ? What caliber is it ? Its sweeeet! ...and pristine...and nice pumper (bottom pic) what are the specs on that little gem ?canshooter wrote:I assume that you checked the metadata on my photo's. Yes I am using a Nikon D100 for the pictures. In answer to the question of where I buy my guns, I got the HW30s in a private deal, the HW97k from Illingsworth, who are a true class act. the 2240 pistol from good ole CT. and the Daisy from a guy in North of guelph called Paul Bawden. his website is http://www.centerthegroup.com/
I have since lubed and tarred the HW97k and done the same to the HW30s including a Maccari spring kit. Excellent spring!

The HW97k is a .22, I have never chronied it with a proper chrony. I did try with the computer and microphone and although I dont recall the pellet and speed combination I remember I was getting about 15fpe. I have since installed a fulll Macarri kit with apex seal, spring, guide and top hat and it seems to have gained a little power and a lot of smoothness.
The pistol at the bottom is one I have cobbled together with parts from a couple of guns, and some parts that I made myself. after doing the barrel crown from a rested position I can put the pellets through one hole at 10 yards. I have taken starlings and pigeons out to 40 yards with it. it is .22.

Hi Ed,
I was in your store recently, and I am sorry to say that I was too hurried to stop and introduce myself. Nexty time I will definately say Hi! The gun you are asking about is an HW80 in .177. It is quite a beast and it is very different from firing any other spring gun that I own. It took me a long time to figure out the pellets and hold that would give me good accuracy, and is still the finickiest rifle I have. It likes only 3 pellets; Diabolo Barracuda's, CP Heavies, and JSB Exact Heavies.

Yep. I like the 853c, great for 10 metre target shooting. Nice guns, by the way!airgunfun wrote:The Daisy is a 853c...the same gun used by Canadian cadets.

When'd ya get the Benji? Any problems with eye relief using that mounting system? I'm thinking of getting the Weaver rail kit for mine...

No problems with eye relief, but Ive since taken the scope off. I found that the intermounts didn't hold the scope well enough for critical shooting. I got myself a cheap pair of +1 glasses and now I can see the front sight! It is a great gun for squirrels, and I think that it would be a good inexpensive choice for pest control also.
