HW100T - I AM SCREWED...

#1 Post by sammy »

that
1. I saw this rifle at Snipper's joint
2. Pissed off that I absolutely love it so much.
3. I am freaking thinking about this a good portion of my NON-RECREATIONAL time.
4. I MUST HAVE IT.

I was thinking about spending some money on bulk setup for the qb78 that I recently got, but now I am thinking save the $ and get the powerlets to muck around instead, and put the $ towards HW100T & the Hill pump.

Love to have both, but from practical purposes, HW100 would be the primary rifle I would use on a daily basis and the bulk setup would not see much use to justify setup costs.

Some questions:

1. What mods can be done?
2. Would it give me 300feet 1-1.5" groups with scope?? With Mod? Without Mod?
3. If you have 2K to spend on PCP rifle+pump would you go for HW100 or ????

Before trying out the rifle @ sniper's (my first PCP) I did not pay much attention to PCP's, but now I am all messed up - thought springers were God's creations and gift to man (second to women... I know some will disagree  ) and got the HW50S - fantastic accuracy, but this HW100T felt just too good...TOO FREAKING GOOD!!

So guys, tell me to just go and get the damn thing or tell me there is a better PCP out there for the money. Or maybe just tell me - calm down and use the $ to pay down the mortage    I know what the wife would say

Now, before I go and call D&L and play Santa-To-Sam I need some input from those that own it and/or wish to own it.

PLEASE HELP AND CONVINCE ME EITHER WAY OR JUST ENCOURAGE ME. SHEESH I NEED THERAPHY!!!

Sam.

1. power mod that's all it needs.

i'm sure it's an incredible air rifle, but i could never spend that much money when a good 22lr would do the same. i'd buy a new Marlin model 60, scope it, and keep the other $1800 in my pocket.
not too bad for a 23 year old university student, eh?

Sam, the HW100T is a awesome gun, get it. If I were you I would get the HW100S, though.

Hey, don't hate. It releases negative energy, which is bad for everyone.

It's the same gun, don't worry. I just like standard stocks better, don't really like thumbhole stocks, just a personal prefferance....

man .... untill you own one then you would know, currently I know 5 people that just recently bought them and they're all pick the thumbhole just because the stability of handling the gun, just like my B51, I like it more than my B50. Perhaps then again it is preference too.

What mod could we do to increase the accuracy of HW100? May be I'll consider to get one too:D

sence your discusing this gu , i have some questions .
the air tube must be taken off to fill , if it has 2000psi in it can it be hooked up and filled to 3000 psi ,or does it have to be empty ?
and is the magazine cylinder rotated with a double action or air forced plug ?
i have looked at these guns for some time and may never get one ,(i'd like one ). i keep seeing stuff on it that seems crappy .threads and seals, some over all fetures that should be better for the money . but with out seeing it up close i'm in no position to talk .

Sam,if you hunt you will want the thumbhole as it gives the gun greater control and more stable holding positions when creeping through brush. I use a compact 80 cf 230bar scuba tank-easy quick fill and lasts for months since your only filling to about 2900 psi from a tank that holds 3300 psi. (tank costs 279.00 can$ and 6$ to recharge)

Yes, the tube can be taken off anytime and refill, it doesn't have to be emptied.
The mag. rotates by the bolt action lever, just pull back and push forward.
I've been working on HW100T, taking it apart over 50x, it is so typical German engineering there is NO Crappy stuff on it. Even the way the hex screw mounts with no need to over tighten it and become tight afterward reminds me of BMW's nuts system. The precision design is only for those who appreciate quality would understand. The trigger system is so sweet, you can compare it with any of those high end competition rifle. One guy who just bought one recently like it so much over his LG100.
