Hi Ross,

Would you happen to have spring and guide measurements for the HW95 and HW50S (new version)?

I was looking through some spring measurements and it's possible that one of these springs wil work for the Xisico XS-B3-1 rifle. My B3 had the following spring measurements:

Xisico XS-B3-1 Spring
Length = 9.5"
OD = .733
Wire = .117
Coils = 33

I didn't measure the guide or spring ID but with the above numbers the ID can be estimated at 1/2".

The HW30S spring would seem to fit but coil count is too low and wire thickness is less, which would give loooow velocity.

Weihrauch HW30S Spring
Length = 8.25"
OD = .717"
Wire = .109"
Coils = 28.5

Also, numbers for the Slavia 631 spring would be much appreciated :D

Thanks muchly,
Todd

Hi Ross,

Here is another spring that you can put into your file.

Weiharuch HW45 Spring
Length = 9.0"
OD = .650"-.653"
Wire = .093"
Coils = 34
Guide OD = .447"

HW Springs

#3 Post by RossB »

HW 95 springs should be 35(+) coils of .122 wire, .545-.560 ID.
Old HW 50 springs should be 30 coils of .118 wire, .532 ID.
New HW 50 springs should be 30 coils of .122 wire, .560 ID.

Macarri supplies a .128 wire "power spring" for the HW50.
30 coils of .128 wire, .541 ID.
I believe that this spring is referred to as the "soft spring" if it is bought for tuning the HW35.

Hi Ross,

I was just reading another posting where you mentioned the specs for the full power CZ-631 spring. This spring might be a perfect fit for the XS-B3-1.

Machine Gun Spring

#6 Post by RossB »

The Great Canadian Machine Gun Spring might be a good fit in the Xisico XS-B3-1.
They are .105" wire with an original ID of .504".
They usually preset up to an ID of .510".
The XS-B3-1 might take 38+ coils.
Results could be interesting.

I am a fan of light wire mainsprings.
My easy cocking, smooth firing, Feinwerkbau 124D has a .118" wire mainspring.
Most other, harsher, 12 ft-lb+ air rifles use .128-.150" mainsprings.
