Hi link_dc,

IF you are handy at working on airguns then you may find a lube tune to be a simple task. When I was a young teenager I would not have attempted it. If you are not into disassembling things then be satisfied with the way your rifle shoots right now. It's fine.

You can read the first section of my HW30S review and apply the "lube tune" information to your Quest.

The velocity spread you posted was the same with or without waiting 30 seconds between shots. Both 5 shot series had a 27fps spread from highest to lowest.

Fold fishing line in half or make a loop. Put 3/4" patch in loop and pull patch through barrel. A large sewing pin or similar weight can be used to feed the line through the barrel. Clean from breech to muzzle.

No disrespect intended but I think you should avoid trying a lube tune :D

I agree with TCooper avoid a lube tune because your Quest is fine. The Quest is a pretty decent rifle already.

i dont know how good i am at doing stuff to airguns, but i never had to, but i did take both my quest and my delta apart to make the anti bear trap stop shaking around all the time, and i had no problem taking apart the trigger or assembling it again, i really want to get into this airgun modding thing, and im not bad a taking apart stuff and putting it together, the one thing im not to good at is electronics, i can understand it, but i just cant solder stuff at all! i suck at it! the pieces are so dang small! but i think i could be good at this airgun thing, and i really want to do it!

Goo gon. What would you want to use that for? If it's for cleaning out the compression tube I'd say no because I wouldn't use anything foriegn in a gun that isn't meant for metal.

Edit: Oh I see what you are asking. Yes goo gone is for clothing.

If you want to get into modding, you should get a one of the 22xx/13xx series, they are awesome!

that 1377 is cool looking, so is it easy to do power mods on that one? and can you make your own wood grips?

GooGone is a great product for cleaning airgun barrels. It is a mild cleaner and will not harm seals.
I cannot take credit for this discovery. I first heard about GooGone about 5 years ago from Russ Best on the other Airgun Forum (yellow). Russ is a machinist, an airgunsmith, and a wealth of knowledge on airgun topics. He knows his stuff.

I didn't know that Goo Gone could be used for airguns. I assumed not. Guess we learn something new everyday.
