Velocity inconsistancy
Hi link_dc,
IF you are handy at working on airguns then you may find a lube tune to be a simple task. When I was a young teenager I would not have attempted it. If you are not into disassembling things then be satisfied with the way your rifle shoots right now. It's fine.
You can read the first section of my HW30S review and apply the "lube tune" information to your Quest.

The velocity spread you posted was the same with or without waiting 30 seconds between shots. Both 5 shot series had a 27fps spread from highest to lowest.
HTH,
Todd

i dont know how good i am at doing stuff to airguns, but i never had to, but i did take both my quest and my delta apart to make the anti bear trap stop shaking around all the time, and i had no problem taking apart the trigger or assembling it again, i really want to get into this airgun modding thing, and im not bad a taking apart stuff and putting it together, the one thing im not to good at is electronics, i can understand it, but i just cant solder stuff at all! i suck at it! the pieces are so dang small! but i think i could be good at this airgun thing, and i really want to do it!TCooper wrote:Hi link_dc,

lol, ok thanksRM422 wrote:Goo gon. What would you want to use that for? If it's for cleaning out the compression tube I'd say no because I wouldn't use anything foriegn in a gun that isn't meant for metal.
Edit: Oh I see what you are asking. Yes goo gone is for clothing.

GooGone is a great product for cleaning airgun barrels. It is a mild cleaner and will not harm seals.link_dc wrote:thanks , well i do have a question about goo gone, i do have somthing that i think is called that, but i think its for clothes, is this the right one?RM422 wrote:Well then if you really want to do it there is nothing stopping you. I cannot take credit for this discovery. I first heard about GooGone about 5 years ago from Russ Best on the other Airgun Forum (yellow). Russ is a machinist, an airgunsmith, and a wealth of knowledge on airgun topics. He knows his stuff.
