Hi Mikey: No brokerage charges because there's no "brokerage" (yeah, as if the couriers do much usually). The goods are typically trucked to the Fort Erie location, clear Customs en masse more or less from the bill of lading, then they're shipped out by regular methods, Canada Post parcel post or Purolator for bigger stuff seem to be popular.

Let's just say I haven't paid any tax on anything shipped out of Fort Erie for a very long time, years. Including my chrony. I don't know how it works, maybe the tax is included in the "shipping" charge but sure doesn't seem like it. Tax doesn't seem to enter the equation. [And just why the hell do we usually pay sales tax for stuff bought in the US anyway?]

Probably the best price in Canada on chronies is at LeBaron, like just about everything else. I think the F1 was just over $100 when I was last there, but that was many months ago and the Canadian list prices are a lot lower now. I'd recommend a Beta if you can spring for it, much more convenient IMO. And a Master version if you're worried about shooting the electronics, but that's easy to avoid if you set up properly and stay close to the chrony (OK for airguns). A decent tripod that raises chrony to barrel height helps in that regard, pretty hard to hit chrony when holding the gun normally with barrel a few inches from wands.

You can always upgrade to any other chrony model from the factory, so no big loss whatever you choose except additional shipping charges.

D&R in the US seems to know how to ship economically to Canada, typically you avoid taxes too. Their chrony prices are competitive for the US. And they have lots of very hard to find in Canada pellet styles at decent prices too.
